Hello all and Happy New Year!
Mid afternoon my daughter and I saw a N. Shrike atop a tree along Old Cross
Rd in South Burlington (this is east off of Dorset Street).
Also, about lunch time we saw the Snow Goose in Shelburne Bay: first time
flying over the end near the boat access, and then later "swimming" around
in the "skin" ice that was there near shore. As we left, it seemed to be
laboring, by itself, to get through the slushy ice there; so hope she is ok
(and doesn't get picked off by the neighborhood eagles). It must be able to
fly ok, having been seen in Burlington Bay before.
If anyone is still seeing Bohemian Waxwings in the very general area of
Shelburne, could they please let me know, as I am trying to get my daughter
on some before she leaves on Wed. I saw some in Grand Isle as part of the
CBC there on Sunday, but haven't been seeing them around here lately.
Thanks, Larry
Shelburne
