This sounds extremely strange, I know... but what I'm almost certain was a
yellow breasted chat appeared in the bramble four feet from my face out the
kitchen window this morning.
Bright yellow chest...  vivid ring around the eye extending out toward the
very thick bill...
I got a great look at this bird; the only thing that makes me say "almost
certain" is its scarcity in these parts.
any other reports of winter chats in these parts?
a beautiful beautiful bird...
