Would someone with tips on distinguishing between these two birds post some

I look at my field guides and because it's been years since I've seen a 
hoary redpoll, I'm not sure I'd clinch and id at this point. So, short of 
sitting down with one of you with both redpolls in front of us...what are 
some things to focus on when id'ing the redpolls.

...I'm cramming for a CBC tomorrow can't you tell! LOL
