We have a ThermoFinnigan DeltaPlus Advantage for continuous flow analysis of N2O that lost a turbo some time ago. The turbo was replaced and the system is now leak free. Now, however, cup 1 (mass 44) seems dead. No signal at all. After recalibrating N2O, doing a mass scan, and of course, rebooting, cup 1 is still showing no signal. I have swapped the amplifier boards for cups 1 and 2 yielding no signal on cup 1 and the expected signal decrease on cup 2. Cup 1 does not seem to be shorted with the sidewalls of the flight tube after a conductivity test. Upon unplugging the signal cable that travels from the amplifier boards to the data processing mother board, the signals of cups 2 and 3 go to zero but cup 1 goes to 50V...this piece of evidence seems to speak to the mother board being the problem. Can anyone weigh in on this problem? Your thoughts and time are greatly appreciated!
