We just use the cap off the sharpie.  It's large enough and doesn't seem to 
hurt anyone. We also us it to mark skin for paras and thoras and no one 
complains. We did purchase some that were specifically for marking through 
gel but they are way cost prohibitive so back to the cap we go. Elizabeth
