Feel free to call me regarding carotid duplex studies on kids. First, use the smallest footprint of a transducer technically possible 10-12 MHz is best. Your standard PSV velocity criteria used for adults does not apply. If the child has sleep apnea, they may have a tortuous carotid anatomy.
