Wendy,  
In my experience the 5500 smart Doppler does not always provide the best
velocity and signal information.  You can tell with your ears the
Doppler is not as clean.

I would use Nancy's suggestion about the "line adjust" so you can get
all the angles from 0-60 degrees.
