As counted by Ted Murin late today, Jan 31, at the Sandbar Causeway:
Among the 1400-1500 gulls were
 5 GLAUCUS GULLS,
 8 ICELAND GULLS,
and a mere 19 Bald Eagles (16 adult).
The alewife die-off may be the likely food source
keeping the birds in the area.

A sixth Glaucus Gull was seen from the Grand Isle ferry landing.

Any would-be gull lookers-at should use caution on Friday due to the forecast
messy weather.
