We found an American Bittern in Franklin this morning, foraging in  
cattail detritus near the Lake Carmi dam. It was visible from the  
pullout west of the dam, along a spit between the parking area and the  
channel leading out to the lake. Hooded Merganser pair also nearby.  -  
  Russ and Sterling Ford
