As I write a flock of Pine Grosbeaks is still arriving. Each bird
arrives first by flying up into the tall deciduous for a lookout,
then down to the cherry tree for a feast. They seem to be passing
through, though, as they eat a short while then take off in a
different direction than they came...one at a time, but always from
and to the same places. I saw a good mix of males and females,
probably 5 in the tree at once. ~ June
