Twenty species were observed today by nine
partipants on Rutland County Audubon's monthly
monitoring walk of West Rutland Marsh. This
compares with 18 species observed last January.
Highlights of today's walk were a bald eagle, new
to our list, three ruffed grouse flushed from the
side of the road and a great look at ten
beautiful eastern bluebirds.
The next marsh walk Saturday, February 16, 8 a.m.
to be held in conjunction with the Great Backyard
Bird Count Feb 15-18 (www.birdcount.org).
