Greetings all!
I'm writing in response to Marny's report of Bald Eagles on the Lake. The annual Mid-Winter Bald Eagle Survey begins today (Jan 2) and runs through the 16th. Any observations of eagles in Vermont would be most welcome. Please include date, time, location, and the number of eagles (if possible identify them as adults, sub-adults or unknown). Audubon Vermont coordinates the survey which also includes a number of standarized survey routes. The mid-winter Bald Eagle Survey is coordinated nationaly by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and has been conducted here in Vermont since 1979. Thanks.

Subject: [VTBIRD] eagles
There are at least nine eagles on the ice north of the Crown Point bridge
where the wind is pushing the ice back.
