Cyndi was out for a walk. I heard her open the door and tell me "get
your camera and get out here."
After some time of temporary blindness on my part, she was able to
point me to a barred owl which promptly flew off as soon as I spotted
it. Then, we respotted it, on a tree hanging over one of the nearby
roads. There was a fork in the road, so i went up the hill on the
other road so as not to get too close to the bird to flush it and
took some shots of it. These were in poor light from a bit of a
distance, but they're the first photos I ever got of a barred owl
that didn't involve a bird in captivity, so that makes me happy.
According to Cyndi, she first spotted it sitting on a dead branch
directly over our feeders.

We've heard that a million monkeys at a million
keyboards could produce the Complete Works of
Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know
this is not true.
