Hello CSSAers,
Hey guys (and girls). Need a website? I made one for you. Take a
look: <http://www.uvm.edu/~erflynn/cssa-site/>. Here's a tarball:
<http://www.uvm.edu/~erflynn/cssa-site.tar.gz>. I took the liberty of
borrowing the logo from the current site, hope you don't mind.
The site has pages in PHP and uses include files for common elements,
similar to how SSI (Server Side Includes) works. This should make the
site easy to maintain, even for those who are not Web hackers of all
trades. Simplicity of maintenance is a priority.
These days, there's a lot you can do with external services--Flickr,
Google, etc. You could start a blog on Blogger and link to it, for
example. Do you have photos from recent events? I think you can
upload them to Flickr, tag them (let's say "UVM CSSA") and then pool
them together. Then you can put up a sidebar with thumbnails. Try
the Flickr Badge Generator: <http://www.flickr.com/badge.gne>.
Anyway, let me know what you think. I think we can get this done
pretty quickly.
Oh, and I'll be returning to UVM in the fall.
