Was there shortly after 6pm. Not much notable around except for two pairs of
Fish Crows. They were flying around and visible from the exposed ledge that is
best reached by taking the first trail on the right after entering the park and
following the trail until you see a turquoise piece of PVC pipe. A little used trail
breaks off at the pipe and heads slightly uphill to an exposed ledge. The birds
were sitting in two separate pines about a hundred feet apart, calling
incessantly. Occasionally they would fly around, continuing to call; maybe
some kind of mating or territorial thing? The call was obvious, but in addition
at one point a couple of the Fish Crows were in flight circling around while
American Crows were flying by and the subtle overall size difference and
smaller head were apparent. Eventually they took off and headed east-
northeast (more dumpsters in that direction).
