Location: Freeman Hill, Moretown, VT
Observation date: 4/20/08
Notes: The delightful song of the Winter Wren greeted me as I
emerged from the house this morning. Sounds like there are several in
our woods and in wooded ares on the Hill. Had a close encounter with a
Hermit Thrush on the forest floor followed by my FIRST SIGHTING of a
bright male American Goldfinch, further up the Hill at Cameron's yard
along with first Barn Swallow. Heard more GF than I saw on my walk this
morning.<br>Three Broadwing Hawks kettling over wooded/field area at the
top of the Hill... a nice morning! Nice to be a birder WITH more birds
to see again!!
