What a wonderful day to spend birding in the Champlain Valley.
I encountered six new species for the year today including Myrtle Warblers at
Fort Cassin and Potash Bay, Northern Rough-winged Swallows at Arnold Bay,
Purple Martins at the 10 acres campground on route 125,
Barn Swallows and Greater Yellowlegs on Creek Rd in Salisbury,
and many Ruby-Crowned Kinglets. Savannah Sparrows seem to have made there way
back as well. Other highlights from today included a lingering American Tree Sparrow at
Charlotte Town Beach, 29 Great Blue Herons on the Fort Cassin Rookery,
large numbers of Green Winged Teal in Ferrisburg and Middlebury,
and more and more Double Crested Cormorants on the lake! I hope every one is enjoying the spring birding!Brendan Collins Location: Charlotte Town Beach
