Friday late afternoon a group of White-Throated Sparrows arrived
in my yard. Saturday morning I was woken by a loud chorus of Old
Sam Peabody.
I'm pretty sure I heard a White-Crowned Sparrow yesterday
afternoon, but wasn't able to eyeball the bird.
Curiously, I still have four or five Juncos, now actually coming
onto the feeders. This winter, they all stayed on the ground.
Today the Flicker was back, too, yelling at me all day long from
the top of his favorite tree while I worked outside. (I know he
was just trolling for girls, but boy, he sure sounded like he was
reading me the riot act!)
