For those of you that have not yet tried the link. One Eagle chick is in the
nest. The first egg did not hatch, laid during March 1st snow storm, 3rd
egg hatched but Monday 14th deceased, cold Rainey Sunday the 13th. Had to
compete with older hatchling and space taking egg. The remaining eaglet does
not appear to be enjoying the hot sunny weather, seeking shade from Mom or
Pop or one tree trunk. Seams like its following the shadow of the tree trunk
takes it close to the edge of the nest, it is certainly leaving the nest
cup! It is great to be able to observe the activity in the eyrie. PS: the
link (VTBIRD 3/20/08 Carol Johnson) to the California Eagle nest also has
audio. Mornings certainly have allot of singing birds, time to brush-up on
those western species, birding by ear! Nancy
