I got this note on Sunday evening from a friend who lives in SW Ohio:


Something weird has been happening in my neighborhood. The robins are 
not building nests. They are laying their eggs on the ground!

I thought I had found one that another bird dropped, but our neighbor 
said that he has seen robins laying eggs in his yard! Very bizarre 
and troubling.
