Suffering from withdrawal from the VBBA project? Need a reason to get out birding? They're moving in fast and furious - and by May 10, ought to be here in large numbers!! That's the day we will be doing our official monthly bird survey at Hildene. Randy Schmidt has been coordinating the dates, publicity and data entry. Barb Powers and I have been lending our ears and eyes to help the newcomers and all comers with IDs. It's been very 'manageable' so far, but we could use some extra 'expertise' during May. It would be GREAT if any of you could come on May 10 to help with this growing event ( esp. since I will be away birding in CAL!!) If you can help, email Randy [log in to unmask] - or just show up and identify yourself and at least act like you know what you are doing! (And you ALL do!!) Muchas Gracias!RuthBird Walk at HildeneThe next monthly survey for birds at Hildene will be Saturday, May 10, 7 am. Leaves are popping and the influx of the breeding birds is in full swing. We will be challenged by the songs and sights of vireos, warblers, grosbeaks and thrushes. Mark your calendars for two additional May walks, Tuesday, May 24 and Saturday May 28 beginning at 7am. These are free events open to all levels of expertise.Meet at the parking lot in front of the Hildene Welcome Center located at the end of the entrance road off RT 7A south of Manchester.
