Regarding the discussion a few weeks ago about seasonality in Junco
sightings...
This morning we have 8 or so Dark-eyed Juncoes (5 male, 3 female)
foraging in the grass a few feet from our front door. We do not
usually have these as 'yard birds', although I do see them sometimes
around a feeder a half mile away (we do not have a feeder). The only
time I saw Juncos in our meadows or yard last year was April 5th. We
are in mostly open rolling farm country in northern Franklin County,
elevation 960 feet. - Russ
