This morning's walk down Pearl St here in Brandon had several male sapsuckers doing sound checks on various percussion possibilities. The other notable sightings were a field sparrow by the sandpit singing and feeding, and a kingfisher pair excavating or renovating a nest site also in the pit.
Female redwing checking out the males and a grouse drumming in the same spot as last week.
Flood waters are starting to cover the road.
