Dear Students,
This message is an invitation to find out more about MEDLIFE
(http://www.medlifeweb.org/) - an organization which plans medical trips
to Ecuador and Honduras for undergraduate and medical students. On these
trips, students work with volunteer doctors and dentists, local hospitals
and
public health organizations to provide medical care for both the rural
and urban poor. Beyond providing much-needed care, such trips are also
an opportunity to educate participating students about many of the
inequities in global health care.
*This summer MEDLIFE has four trips to Ecuador and Honduras. Two of
these trips have spaces still open to interested students. The first
mission
is from June 21st-28th in rural Ecuador. The second mission is from
August 3rd-10th in urban Honduras. If you're interested in applying
please email me. In particular if you have interest in leading MEDLIFE's
efforts at your school we would like to invite you to apply.*
Right now, MEDLIFE exists as a student network at several colleges and
universities in New England and is looking to expand. We would like to
start a group at your school. If this sounds interesting to you, take a
look at MEDLIFE's website, and from there, feel free to get in touch with
me. Please feel free to forward this email to any listserve of students you
think might be interested.
Thank you,
Nick Ellis
