I purchased a *fleet* of HPD330 desktops in 2003, and their replacement
the
DC5100 in 2006. They have been extremely reliable and I think I have
only
lost one out of 50 D330 boxes to a bad board (after 5 years). 3-year
warranties but I don*t recall needing it for any of the desktops. I
have
seen a couple of quirky ethernet cards but no complete failures.
As for AMD, I took that step with the most recent batch of laptops
(nx6125).
Saved a few bucks, but the two warranties I have called in have
resulted in
replacement machines (different models) because they did not have the
parts
- I guess there has been a shortage? I have also found the AMD chipsets
more
difficult to image (using Ghost). I think I will go back to Intel for
the
next laptop purchase.
