Liaison Librarian Position Announcement

Laupus Health Sciences Library - ECU
The Laupus Health Sciences Library at East Carolina University invites
applications for a full-time librarian position in the Information
Services Department. This position functions as a liaison to the ECU
College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS). Primary responsibilities
include routinely interacting and communicating with faculty and
students to assess information needs in support of curriculum and
research projects, and responding to identified needs with appropriate
library services and resources. This position will also focus on
providing library skills related training for CAHS students and faculty
as well as publicizing new resources and services. The CAHS Liaison
also provides reference assistance to library users, including regular
hours at the Service Desk.
Serving ECU's Health Sciences Division, Laupus Library is part of an
exciting and growing atmosphere including a College of Allied Health
Sciences, College of Nursing, Brody School of Medicine, a new School of
Dentistry and various centers of excellence.
Qualifications: The minimum educational requirement is an ALA accredited
master's degree in library science. Preference will be given to
candidates with professional experience and/or proven experience in
health sciences or academic library settings. Health sciences library
experience or relevant course work in the health sciences is highly
desirable.
Salary: $40,000 minimum starting
