We have a birdhouse that has been occupied for many years by a pair of Tree Swallows.  This year, for some unknown reason, they abandoned the nest containing 4 eggs.  Within 2 days I observed a House Wren (the first I've ever seen in this area) pitching the eggs out of the nest.  He then departed and I haven't seen him, or the Swallows, since.
