Yesterday, I observed a group of about 17 Snow Buntings on the Mines Road in Lowell. The group was foraging in the mowed area on the sides of the road about one mile north of the beautiful asbestos mine. I had seen a smaller number of birds in the same area on Wednesday, but was without binoculars and wasn't 100% certain of their identity. Fortunately, I was more prepared yesterday afternoon as I made my way home on the same stretch of road. So nice to have these lovely birds back again.
