Hi Folks,

The Bird Banding Lab at Patuxent no longer handles color-marked birds. 
They do not have sufficient personnel to handle the requests, instead 
they will direct observers to the research teams doing the field work. 
At least that has been my experience in reporting neck-collars for 
Greater Snow Geese from Kent County, Maryland (BTW we observed one of 
the neck-collared Blue Geese sighted at Dead Creek last autumn here in

There are two basic areas where Greater Snow Geese are banded for the 
project: Bylot Island SW of Ellesmere Island (as well as a few on 
Ellesmere itself) in Nunavut well north of the Arctic Circle, and Isle 
aux Oies, a major migration staging site on the St. Lawrence River. All 
marked individuals are banded as adult females.
