While building Halloween dummies Fri afternoon I kept hearing a wood-pecker call that was shriller than one from a Hairy. Picked up binocs and there was a beautiful RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER happily pecking at a tree across the road (I think he/she was critiquing my dummies). It's only the third ever sighting for me and I was quite thrilled!
