I went out to Button Bay State Park this afternoon, and had a nice mixture
of fall and winter birds.
GREAT EGRET -2 (at the mouth of Dead Creek on Basin Harbor Rd.)
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET - 1
Yellow-rumped warbler -2
Horned grebe - 16
Common Loon - 6
Rough-legged hawk - 1
The loons were on the west side of Button Island. Every so often a flock of
up to 20 Bonaparte's gulls would form above them and dive at the surface
like terns, feeding with the loons. It was a quite impressive site.
