Hi All: The TRC in coordination with several colleges is offering three transportation related courses in the spring. Several of these courses should appeal to students in different majors and colleges that want to improve their skills and expand understanding in this important area (attached and below).

This course explores models used to forecast future travel and trip rates. Topics include four-step demand modeling, trip generation, trip distribution,  mode split, traffic assignment,  gravity models, network equilibrium models, discrete choice models, and applications of TransCAD, a GIS based software.

Prerequisite: CE 133 or permission of instructor.

The objective of this course is to 1) Understand how our transportation systems evolved into the systems they are today 2) Explore transportation planning from a range of theoretical perspectives
3) Examine the discourse, citizen participation and policy discussion around transportation planning, and 4) Engage students in hands-on projects related to transportation planning.
