I just use blues chux to cover any open wound, and put the cuff around them. It's cheaper, and most hospital/clinics have them in stock anyway. I wouldn't call an extra $18 cost to perform one bilateral ABI minimal.

I provide disposable cuffs for legs that have broken or ulcerated
tissue. I use Medline MDS9723SL. These cuffs are 8 or $9 each but the
cost is minimal compared to the problems they solve. These cuffs are
not very long and are useful at the ankle level only, and sometimes we
move the cuff to the calf when the patient is not to large.
Otherwise we use the PDI San-Cloth Plus wipes between patients.
