Japanese House members,

It was great getting together tonight. Thank you for your time and the
great food. Those who could not attend, hopefully you can join in the
future.

There are some announcements.

1) The message below is about Wednesday Night Gathering. We did not
decide what to do tonight, but if anyone wants to pick a date and
event. Send your idea along! Karaoke, DDR, games, another pot-luck,
etc. (not movies). Available dates are shown below. We will receive
$50 to spend for this event.

2) A professional English/Japanese translator, Lee Dancy, will be a
guest speaker on February 10th (Tuesday). 11:30-12:30, A101, L/L.
Highly recommended for those who are interested in a career as a
translator.

3) Taiko Drumming Workshop sponsored by AASU (I think)
Sat., Feb 7th
2pm-3:30pm
Living/Learning Fireplace Lounge

Hello Program Directors and Advisors,

This is what the current schedule for the Wednesday Night Gatherings
looks like. If you have not yet e-mailed me which date you would like,
please do so ASAP. The Global Village Office would like to make GV
program participation in the WNG mandatory. So please, think of what
your program might want to do and get back to me. Remember that your
program is receiving an extra 50$ of funding for this as well. Last
semesters events were really great, we can do it again this semester.
Also, MOVIES CANNOT BE SHOWN FOR WNGs. You must do something interactive-ish.

Feb 4 --> Shalom home
Feb 11 -->open
Feb 18 --> open
Feb 25 --> Spanish House
Mar 4 --> Social Justice Suite
Mar 18 --> Caribbean House
Mar 25 --> open
April 1 --> open
April 8 --> Exploring culture through tea
April 15 --> Latin American Culture and Politics
April 22--> open
Aprl 29 --> Open

Remember that you have to advertise for your event (make poster and
hang them around L/L.) If you give a poster to Sarah in the office,
she can put it on the L/L TVs. Thanks all,
Christian

More about this event from the previous message:
"The basic idea is that these should be social gatherings. including
some type of food
prepared/organized by the students in the house, and possibly some
type of activity such
as a cooking demonstration, learning a song, learning curse words in a
foriegn language,
or playing a game from another country. Each global village house
should ideally sign up
for one gathering this semester. This is entirely student-led (GV
would likely not be
present), with each hose receiving an extra 50$ of funds to cover costs"
