At 11 East State Street in Montpelier there were at least 50 and probably more Waxwings cleaning off every last berry on the tree they were feasting on. It was a bright, beautiful sunny day and I stood for 10 minutes next to the tree and watched as they flew back and forth in front of me. A great treat!

Subject: [VTBIRD] Bohemians
I reported 50 Bohemian Waxwings to Project FeederWatch at Cornell yesterday, and was questioned about the species and number, as being unlikely. I had to assure them that yes, there were 50 in the birch trees overlooking Willow Brook in Brownsville VT yesterday afternoon. I blinked, and they were gone!
