It's been a happening time here at North Branch Nature Center!
On Monday we were greeted to Red-winged Blackbirds, and Grackles on
Tuesday. Wednesday we had our first Song Sparrow of the year, and today our
first Robin in one of the few bare patches of grass.
We've also been watching a pair of Mourning Doves in the Red Maple outside
the office windows. The male (who is slightly larger and has a more
brightly-colored chest) has been preening the female since this morning.
When the female hops away, the male quickly positions himself by her side.
