We have a NetApps SAN that is using RAID 6 and it has about 3.6 TB of space. It will handle NSS volumes (Novell), Linux and Windows. We are currently using it for disk to disk backup. It uses iSCSI.
We are building a SUSE Linux SAN that will be populated with NSS volumes for storage of files that we don't want to backup such as video files and old files. It is RAID 5 using iSCSI.
The NetApps was expensive but it is very versatile and has good support.

Does anyone have a recommendation for NAS devices ? Seems alot easier than
building a server. Lots of choices..
I would need abt 500 GB, raid 1 if possible.
