In the 12 years I have been doing Vascular Sonography I have yet to
seen 'Homan's sign" produce anything but a negative examination for DVT.
Homan's sign is the underground joke in the Vascular universe.....any Vascular
Physician worth his or her weight in gold would concur. And as far as are we
getting "lazy or what"????.....wonder how many actual pseudocompressions
you took place in??? Lets see you attempt three consecutive 20 min sessions.
Bet you would wuss out after the first 20 mins. I would rather participate in a
5-10 min injection with little anguish to the patient and myself than "ram" a
transducer in someones groin for almost a hour. All the while watching the
patient writhe in pain (post pain medicine) and me feeling like I had just
finished 5 renal exams in a row. Lazy.....I think not! Smarter than the "average
bear".....+1 for me.
