Dawn, You will probably get a ton of replys for this question. I did. And
unfortunately it seems to be split 50-50. When I bill for an ADUS(93926 or
93925) as part of our protocol we always include an ABI. (Pressures only in
the ankles and brachials). One of my physicians(out of 10) wants PVR's in
addition to the complete LE arterial doppler and pressures that we give him
and he wants us to bill for it(93922) We have not been getting denials from
Medicare. And in truth we are performing a more detailed exam and utilizing
extra equipment so I can't disagree with him there. So long story short, what I
asked him to do was provide me with a protocol for performing the additional
PVR's so that should, God forbid, I would ever need to defend what some
people might think is an excessive practice of ordering and billing I would have
