Peter,

They are amazing in breeding plumage.  If you haven't done so already,
checkout the photo I took of one that was at our feeder posted April 5 at
http://northernwingsbirder.blogspot.com. As late as your bird is, he may all
dressed up for a date that won't occur this season.
