A total of 47 species this morning, all likely breeders. The
highlights were Indigo Bunting, Louisiana Waterthrush, and a few
single toots from a Saw-whet Owl. I was playing a Saw-whet call on
IBird plus (an IPod application) when this bird gave its brief reply
from across the beaver pond on the eastern end of the road. This was a
first for Piney Woods.
I left the place cleaner than when I got there--a garbage bag's worth
of other people's lack of consideration.
