An oriole spent some time yesterday examining a clear plastic feeder filled with sunflower seeds in Waltham.  Hasn't come back that I've noticed.

I have had luck putting a wide headed nail in a fence post, cutting an Orange in half and piercing the orange on the nail or cutting a small X on the orange to put on the nail.
However, even though they do come to the orange, the tasty treat also attracts a whole host of other six legged creatures. :-)
