I found a Pine Siskin fledgling yesterday in Woodstock. It had a half
grown tail. and nearly fully grown primaries. It could only fly about 5
feet at a time. I flushed it out of a ditch along the road in my
neighborhood.
So,observations of gathering nest material and brood patches now jumps
to nesting for sure, at least in Woodstock.
Keep your eyes open for actual nests!
