Transition from 8830 Blackberry to Tour 9630 reflections.

For those who are interested I made the transition from an 8830 to a 
9630 tour (Blackberry) and have made a few notes.

Very nice phone and lovely screen,

Number 1 Annoyance, as many are aware the power adaptor configuration 
has changed so if you have extra AC adapters and/car chargers you get to 
buy them again (how convenient for the corporate giants).

Also the 9630 does fit in my 8830’s leather case, but I had to perform 
surgery to make a hole for the AC adaptor/car charger.

After my first call to a colleague, he informed me that the blocking was 
turned on so he could not see who was calling, I had to go into the 
“Options” on the phone and turn identity restricting off in order for my 
number to be displayed on his I phone.  Oddly, this was not a problem 
when calling my UVM desk phone.

Notifylink users will want to be aware that such a move requires you to 
go into the Notifylink.uvm.edu interface and change your “PIN” in the 
interface.  Also when you re-download Notifylink be aware that, unlike 
the 8830 OS, the program downloads to the “Downloads” folder.  You will 
need to go there to run the application.  When you run the installer and 
you have the Notifylink icon (red ball with white/grey center) you’ll 
want to move it to the “Home” screen.
