Hey everyone-
If you're still looking for something to do tonight, come check out
"The Hip Side of Cuba" starting at 6pm in the Patrick Gym Dance
Studio. The event is free and is open to everyone!
This event is the closing celebration of the 16th Annual Hispanic
Month celebration at UVM sponsored and organized by the Latin American
Studies Program and the Romance Language Department. Toni Basanta, a
local DJ, educator and music critic, will make a presentation on the
development and the roots of rap, hip hop and reggaeton in Cuba,
Miami, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and the West Coast. Members of SASS
will perform a rueda and then DJ Raul will play music until 10pm.
Hopefully we'll see some of you there!
