The annual Research in Progress Meeting of the Geochemistry Group of the Geological Society will be held be held on Thursday 4th March 2010 at Burlington House (London) and is titled 'Carbon system Science'. The meeting will involve three related sessions
1) Planetary Carbon, with keynote speaker Pierre Cartigny (IPG, Paris) talking on: The Mantle Carbon Cycle : Fluxes, steady State and homogeneity.
2) Paleocarbon, with keynote speaker Paul Pearson (Cardiff) talking on: The carbon cycle and the greenhouseicehouse transitionand.
3) Modern Carbon, with keynote speaker Andy Watson (UEA) talking on: The changing ocean uptake of atmospheric CO2. This session will also include an invited talk by Joe Cartwright (Cardiff) on: Subsurface sequestration of CO2: challenges and risks.
