This is not a global problem, but appears to be specific to your site.
How do I know this? If you visit:
https://sharepoint.uvm.edu (the landing page) -or-
https://sharepoint.uvm.edu/sites/ad (the Active Directory information page)
you will see that these sites load without error.
I can see that you site still exists, so this is not an accidental
deletion. How do I know? I visited the admin page of you site...
append the following to your site URL:
I'll bet that you have a corrupted web part on the home page of your
site. I'll do some digging and let you know what I find out.
