I use Premiere Pro, but this should work for the Elements version. Michael
Vining is right – Premiere likes files in specific places by default, but you can
go into the program’s preferences and change the directories for any given
project.
When multiple students are working on a project, you can set up a virtual
drive on your server and allow all project students access to it, then direct all
Premiere files to that drive, but I usually have our students work on a
dedicated laptop with a large external hard drive. I set up an account on our
server for that project, and all students working on it login to that account.
This has solved all our file problems – unless someone accidently deletes a file…
