I ran across the following shorebirds at the confluence of Dead and Otter
creeks. Couldn't stay for too long, so I bet there were more. Brilyea might
be a good place to look over the next couple of days.
Location: Dead Creek X Otter Creek
Observation date: 11/1/09
Notes: There were more Greater Yellowlegs present than Lessers. The
shorebirds were moving about quite a bit, however, so I couldn't get a
definitive count for each species. I would say, though, that there were at
least 10 Greaters.
Number of species: 5
Green-winged Teal - Anas crecca X
Greater Yellowlegs - Tringa melanoleuca X
Lesser Yellowlegs - Tringa flavipes X
White-rumped Sandpiper - Calidris fuscicollis 4
Dunlin - Calidris alpina X
