For Windoze users, CamStudio (http://camstudio.org) is free, and saves
locally captured video as .avi files. Not as convenient or slick as
Jing, but worth a look. Here's a link for a discussion of options for

and here's some specific free video capture tools (look like they'd be
pretty basic).
